1-minute power exercise during pregnancy…

I’m a little ahead of myself here…but here’s a great exercise to help you get back in shape and pull everything IN quickly AFTER you’ve had your baby.

Don’t let the words should’ve”, “could’ve, “would’ve” occupy your vocabulary. And certainly don’t be one of those moms who ONLY “talks” about getting back in shape.

This 1-minute exercise WILL definitely tighten things up and help you get your body back in shape quickly and easily.

So what is it?

It’s THE PLANK – an excellent full body exercise that will get your tummy, arms, legs and core back into shape in no time. And here’s exactly how to do it…

Kneel on the floor, reach forward and place your forearms on the ground in front of you, hands in the prayer position. Now tuck your bum under, into a pelvic tilt, so the only things that are touching the ground are your forearms and toes.

Your body should form one line from your shoulders to your toes – do NOT stick your bum up in the air. Aim to hold this pose for 1 minute without moving – but don’t forget to breathe (of course). And please note, you should feel this exercise in your abs as well as your arms and legs, not your lower back!

To make this exercise easier, you can do it from your knees instead of your toes. Or, alternatively, if you’d like to make it harder, try lifting one leg off of the floor at a time and holding it for 30-seconds (and if you’d still like to challenge yourself more, try lifting/extending your arm!).
